Claire is a Stroke Specialist Occupational Therapist working in the multidisciplinary Stroke Discharge Team at North Bristol Trust providing rehabilitation at home for patients on discharge from hospital.

 

Claire has 14 years experience within stroke specific and brain injury rehabilitation. She has extensive experience in facilitating independence in daily living activities and making recommendations for aids and adaptations, facilitating engagement in leisure activities and community access.

She is skilled in upper limb rehabilitation including Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), functional strength training, provision of personalised home exercise programmes and task specific training.

 

She has completed recent training in Functional electrical stimulation for the upper limb, Cognitive rehabilitation therapy and Fatigue management. As part of her current role Claire has also completed work place assessments and recommendations.

 

Claire is client centred and goal focused in her approach to rehabilitation. She has a particular interest in the psychological factors that influence the rehabilitation journey and enjoys working with clients to regain confidence and manage anxieties.

 

Claire also provides supervision and training to support workers and students.
