Caroline Is a specialist physiotherapist in brain injury. She is registered as a physiotherapist with the HCPC and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
After qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2002, Caroline started specialising in neuro-rehabilitation in 2003. For more than 10 years, she has worked in specialist brain injury services including inpatient brain injury rehabilitation and specialist community brain injury rehabilitation. In addition to working in brain injury services, she has experience of working in both inpatient and community neuro-rehabilitation, stroke rehabilitation and acute neurosurgery.
Caroline has extensive clinical experience in assessing and treating clients with complex physical difficulties. She is skilled at identifying their main difficulties and their personal goals. She works with clients, their families and carers to establish robust therapeutic programmes and routines to maximise physical wellbeing.
Caroline frequently supports clients to return to the physical activities that they have previously enjoyed or take up new pursuits such as attending a gym, walking, swimming, cycling or other sports. She is familiar with working in a wide range of community exercise settings. She has specialist skills in therapeutic handling, posture management, aquatic physiotherapy (hydrotherapy), vestibular rehabilitation (for dizziness) and balance re-training.
In addition to her clinical work, Caroline has written for publication by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN) and presented at the regional ACPIN meeting. She has also lectured for Bristol University MSc students.
Caroline recognises the uniqueness of each client's situation and works creatively to tailor therapeutic interventions that meet individual needs.
