Erica is Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist working in Brain Injury.  She is registered as an Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (regulatory body) and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

 

Erica qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 and since 2009 has been working with brain injury clients with complex physical, cognitive and behavioural difficulties working in both the acute and community settings providing occupational therapy rehabilitation, advice and support.

 

Within Erica’s role as an Occupational Therapist she has worked closely with the client’s carers and relatives and understands the importance of liaising closely with those involved with their care.  She is an excellent communicator with professionals, clients and relatives.  

 

Erica has specialist skills in fatigue management, postural management, vocational rehabilitation and functional rehabilitation. She is AMPS accredited and able to complete assessments to help inform care requirements or progress made within therapy.

 

Erica has developed a fatigue management service which includes running a fatigue management group for adults following brain injury and a vocational rehabilitation service supporting clients back into work roles.

 

Having worked in the NHS since qualifying and in an acute based multi-disciplinary Countywide brain injury therapy team, her clinical work has given Erica extensive experience of multi-disciplinary team working, goal setting, coordinating complex discharge planning and report writing.

 

Erica is client centred in her practice and loves to support clients with neurological difficulties to work towards achieving their potential.
